Your child’s health is important to us. If your child becomes ill while at school, you are required by law to pick up your child. A temperature of 100 degrees F or more will exclude your child from the center. In the event of a fever or illness, your child will be isolated and made as comfortable as possible until you arrive.

If your child is not well enough to participate in all of our daily activities, we ask that you keep your child home. A child will only be permitted to stay inside with a doctor’s note.

Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, you will be notified immediately. If the parents cannot be reached, we will then call the emergency contact number on the child’s enrollment form. Your child will be transported to the doctor or hospital as indicated on the medical release form.

We must have signed permission before administering any kind of medicine. Each medication must be signed up weekly. The medication form is located in the kitchen. Medicine must be provided in its original container clearly stating your child’s name, prescribed dosage, and date. We can only give medicine to the child for whom it is intended and we can only give the medicine as it states on the label.

Inform your child’s teachers of any signs of discomfort so we will be aware if your child becomes ill.

Meals & Snacks

We furnish a hot, nutritious lunch and two snacks each day. Menus are prepared in accordance with the daily nutritional requirements outlined by the Minimum Standards. A monthly menu is posted in the kitchen and in each child’s classroom.

Please notify the Director if your child has and allergies to certain foods. You may need to provide for your child an alternative in place.

Transportation & Field Trips

We provide transportation to and from area public schools. If your child needs scheduled transportation, please notify us. We ask that you let us know if your child will not be riding the Creations bus before the bus begins its scheduled route. If you fail repeatedly to let us know that your child will not be at Creations pick up, we will notify you that we can no longer be responsible for transporting your child.

All field trips will be posted, with destination and departure/arrival times included for your planning. Field trips are chosen for both educational development and recreation.

Release of Children

State law requires that each child be signed in and out daily. You must come into the center to pick up your child. Children will not be released over the playground fence or from a field trip. If you make arrangements for someone other than yourself to pick up, you must notify the office in person. Telephone calls will not be accepted. Identification must be presented by that individual at time of pick up. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you forget to inform us or the individual cannot show identification, we cannot release your child.

If you are a single parent, please indicate on the enrollment form those individuals having legal custody of your child and others who may make pick-ups.

Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather you will need to call the center to find out if we are open. We may close, open late, and/or close early due to the weather. It is our goal to get this information to you as soon as possible.

Personal Belongings

Please make sure your child’s name is clearly marked on all removable clothing (coats, sweaters, rain gear, etc.) Always dress your child for both indoor and outdoor activity. Also, please do not let your child bring toys, candy, gum, food, or other non-essential personal belonging to school, as these can be easily lost.

Of course, your child may bring a blanket and pillow for nap time. Please make sure it is clearly labeled with your child’s name.

It is also important to keep and extra set of clothing at the center.

Notification of Enrollment or Policy Changes

All parents will be notified of any changes made to our enrollment procedures and/or policies. Notification will be in written form and will be provided to each family.
